The GloRe Game: Now Accessible for Visually Impaired Players

The GloRe Game, designed to help volunteers recognize and develop their soft skills, has been renewed to be accessible for visually impaired individuals. The board, cards, and instructions now use fonts and color combinations that enhance readability, making the game inclusive for those with visual challenges. The game can be downloaded in English, Italian, and Turkish.

How to Play

The GloRe certification system guides volunteers to have their soft skills recognized by their organization. GloRe is a fun, easy, family-friendly board game that everyone can enjoy. Participants have been using GloRe to identify and acknowledge the soft skills they gained or improved during their volunteering experiences.

  1. Setup: Participants form groups of 2 to 5 people. Each group member must be a member of the GloRe system before starting the game.
  2. Objective: The group that completes the game the fastest wins. If two groups finish simultaneously, the group with the highest points wins. Alternatively, you can declare two winners: one for finishing first and one for scoring the highest points.
  3. Gameplay: There are 25 soft skill cards, each with three categories: case study, open ending, and brainstorming. Each group chooses one card and has 3-4 minutes to respond to the question on the card. All groups work simultaneously. Points and progress on the board vary by card.
  4. Rules: After time is up, groups present their responses. If other groups find the responses satisfactory, points are awarded, and moves are made on the board. The board includes challenges, and players must follow the instructions provided.
